These terms may be updated before our official launch. If they change in a meaningful way, we'll ask you to review them.

Terms of Use

The rules for using Chattypod. By creating an account you agree to them and to our Community Guidelines.

Version 2026-10-27

1. Who we are

Chattypod ("Chattypod", "we", "us") is a chat service with public rooms, private one-to-one messages, GIFs and link previews, available on the web at https://app.chattypod.com (iPhone and Android apps are coming soon). It is operated by [Operator legal name, registered address and company number].

You can reach us at support@chattypod.com.

2. Who can use Chattypod

You must be at least 16 years old. We ask for your date of birth when you sign up and we refuse sign-ups from anyone younger. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 16, we will delete it.

You must be able to form a binding agreement with us and not be barred from using the service under the laws that apply to you.

One person, one account: each account needs its own verified email address (and, where we ask you to verify one, its own mobile number). Don't create accounts for someone else, sell or transfer your account, or create new accounts after we have banned you.

3. Your account

Keep your password secret and your email address up to date: it's how you reset your password and how we reach you about your account. You are responsible for what happens on your account. If you think someone else has access, change your password (Settings › Change password), which signs out every other device, and use Settings › Devices to sign out devices you don't recognise.

You can delete your account at any time in Settings › Delete account. Deletion takes effect 7 days later unless you sign in again before then (see https://chattypod.com/delete-account).

4. Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abuse

Chattypod has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. By using Chattypod you agree to follow our Community Guidelines (https://chattypod.com/guidelines). In particular you must not post or send content that is sexually explicit, involves minors in any sexual way, is hateful, harassing, threatening or violent, promotes self-harm or illegal activity, infringes someone else's rights, or is spam or a scam.

Every message and profile can be reported (and you can email support@chattypod.com about a room or room proposal), and you can block anyone. We review reports and act on them within 24 hours: we remove the content and may mute, remove from rooms, or ban the account that posted it.

We filter some words automatically and check uploaded images (profile photos, GIFs and link-preview thumbnails) with automated tools. An image may be refused, or held for review by our team before other people can see it.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of what you post. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, display and transmit it as needed to run Chattypod (for example, to show your room messages to the people in that room and your direct messages to the person you sent them to). The licence ends when the content is deleted from our systems, as described in the Privacy Policy.

Messages in rooms are visible to everyone who opens the room. Direct messages are visible to you and the recipient, and to our moderators only if one of you reports them.

Only post content you have the right to share. GIF search results and GIPHY stickers come from GIPHY and remain subject to GIPHY's terms. Links you share show a preview fetched by our servers and may open the provider's official player.

Sticker packs you submit must be your own original work (no characters, logos or art you don't own). By submitting a pack you give us the licence above to show it in the sticker store and in messages. We review packs before they appear and may refuse or remove them.

6. Moderation and enforcement

Room owners and moderators can delete messages in their rooms, warn people, temporarily remove (kick) or mute them, and ban them from their room (for a time or permanently). They can do this from the app or through the room bot (for example "@bot mute @user 1h"). A room ban only applies to that room; it is not an account ban. Members can collectively remove someone from a room through reports.

The room bot also warns people automatically when the word filter catches something or when they flood a room. 3 warnings within 24 hours lead to an automatic 60-minute mute in that room.

Our administrators can delete content, remove profile photos, ban accounts temporarily or permanently, and delete accounts that break these Terms or the law. We may act without notice when it's needed to protect people or the service.

If you think we made a mistake, email support@chattypod.com with your username and what happened.

7. Points, ranks and bonuses

Points, ranks and daily bonuses are a game inside Chattypod. They have no cash value, can't be bought, sold, transferred or exchanged for anything, and are not your property. We can change how they work, and they are lost when your account is deleted or banned.

Premium sticker packs can be unlocked with points. Unlocks are final: points are not refunded, even if the pack is later removed for breaking the rules. When a premium pack you created is unlocked, you may receive a share of the price in points, which also have no cash value.

8. The service

We work hard to keep Chattypod available and secure, but we provide it "as is" and can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may change, suspend or stop features. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for content posted by other users.

The room bot can answer questions with AI when it is turned on. AI replies are generated automatically, can be wrong or incomplete, are not written or checked by a person, and are not medical, legal, financial or other professional advice. Don't rely on them for important decisions, and don't try to make the bot produce content that breaks these Terms.

Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under consumer-protection laws that can't be waived.

9. Changes to these Terms

When we change these Terms, the Community Guidelines or the Privacy Policy in a meaningful way, we update the version date below and ask you to review and accept the new version the next time you sign in. If you don't accept, you can still download your data or delete your account.

10. Law and contact

[Governing law and venue: to be completed by counsel for the operator's jurisdiction. EU/UK consumers keep the protection of the mandatory laws of their country of residence.]
